6 Lives Lost as Runaway Bus Crashes Into Society Wall in Kurla

A tragic accident occurred in Mumbai’s Kurla, where an electric bus lost control after a brake failure, killing six people and injuring 49 others. The bus, which was on route 332 from Kurla West to Duberi, sped uncontrollably around 9:30 pm near Ambedkar’s city and Buddha Colony.

The bus first collided with a car, dragging it for 100 meters. It then struck a scooter, an auto, a bike, and pedestrians, crushing nearly 50 people under its wheels within a 200-meter radius. The bus finally came to a halt after crashing into a society wall.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene, rescuing the injured and admitting them to Bhava and Sayan Hospitals. Several victims remain in critical condition.

Police swiftly detained the bus driver and registered a case against him. Authorities are now inspecting the bus’s maintenance records to identify any lapses. A chilling video of the accident, showing the bus mowing through everything in its path, has gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention to the incident.

The accident highlights concerns about vehicle maintenance and road safety, sparking a debate over the measures needed to prevent such tragedies in the future.
