
Around 80 flights at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi have faced delays due to adverse weather conditions, characterized by poor visibility and fog. This has resulted in frustration and inconvenience for numerous passengers.
Beyond air travel, ground transportation, including trains in Delhi, has also been hampered by fog, causing disruptions for the passenger route to their destinations. Passengers heading to various locations expressed their grievances as their travel plans were disrupted.
“I am going to Mata Vaishno Devi, and our train is late by more than two hours. Our train was supposed to arrive at 5.30, but it hasn’t arrived yet,” lamented a passenger.
The meteorological department has issued a weather warning for northern India, predicting dense to very dense fog in various regions, including Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, and the lower division of Himachal Pradesh.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) warns that this weather may significantly impact airports, highways, and railway routes in areas with dense fog and low visibility.
