Again an earthquake of magnitude 6.5 hit Afghanistan today

Kabul: An earthquake has been felt in western Afghanistan today. The European-Mediterranean Seismic Center (EMSC) informed that an earthquake of magnitude 6.5 has occurred here. The EMSC reported that the earthquake struck at a depth of 10 km.

According to the information received, the earthquake occurred on Sunday morning and local time at 0336 GMT, in an area of western Herat province, 33 km away from the city.

Where an average of 1,000 people died in the earthquake that occurred in the past few days. An earthquake of magnitude 4.6 on the Richter scale occurred in Afghanistan on Friday. So far, no loss of life or property has been reported due to this earthquake.

This is the third earthquake in Afghanistan this week. Before this, an earthquake of magnitude 6.3 occurred in northwest Afghanistan on Wednesday, October 11. The GFZ said the earthquake was at a depth of 10 km. Two 6.1-magnitude earthquakes struck western Afghanistan on October 7, killing thousands of people, the country’s National Disaster Management Authority said. The death toll from a powerful earthquake in western Afghanistan has risen to 2,000, a Taliban spokesman said.
