Ahmedabad Police Launch ECBs to Ensure Swift Response

The Ahmedabad Police Department is taking proactive measures to ensure public safety, especially for women, children, and senior citizens, by installing Emergency Call Boxes (ECBs) in 205 areas across the city. These boxes, equipped with a help button and a two-way communication system, enable individuals to quickly seek assistance in emergency situations.

When citizens press the help button, they immediately connect with the police control room via video call, prompting swift response and aid. The ECBs are part of the ‘Nirbhaya Safe City’ project, funded by the central and state governments. Special Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Chaudhary oversees the initiative, which has already received an average of 50 calls daily.

By installing ECBs, the police department is providing a sense of security and support to the community. The ECBs feature a help button for emergency situations, a two-way communication system for prompt response, and video call connectivity to the police control room. This proactive approach ensures that citizens receive timely assistance in times of need.
