Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav has insisted on a DNA test in the ongoing Ayodhya rape case. He criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that their actions are aimed at undermining the socialist movement and defaming Muslims. Yadav accused the BJP of conspiring to damage the reputation of socialists and claimed that the current administration’s approach is undemocratic.
Yadav also drew parallels with past incidents, citing the Hathras case where he alleged inadequate administrative response led to multiple deaths, and the Gomti Nagar incident, where he claimed the Chief Minister and BJP government improperly targeted specific communities.
In response to the rape case, Faizabad (Ayodhya) MP Awadhesh Prasad condemned the incident as shameful. He called for the harshest punishment for the accused, including the death penalty. Prasad also stated that the Samajwadi Party demands government security for the victim and her family, along with a compensation of Rs 20 lakh. The SP has formed a high-level committee to investigate the case, and action will be taken based on the committee’s report.
