South superstar Allu Arjun walked out of Chanchalguda Central Jail in Hyderabad this morning after securing bail from the High Court. Despite receiving bail yesterday, he spent the night in jail due to jail authorities not acting on the High Court’s order.
Allu Arjun’s lawyer criticized the delay, calling it illegal and vowing to take legal action against the jail authorities.
Upon his release, Allu Arjun expressed gratitude to his supporters and assured them of his well-being. He stated, “I respect the law and will cooperate fully.” He also extended condolences to the family of the woman who tragically lost her life during the Pushpa 2 screening event, saying, “It was an unfortunate incident. I am deeply sorry for what happened.”
The incident occurred on December 4 at Hyderabad’s popular Evening Theater. A massive crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun during the screening of Pushpa 2. Chaos ensued, leading to a woman’s death due to a stampede, while her minor son sustained injuries and later slipped into a coma.
Following a complaint by the deceased woman’s husband, Revathi Vaskar, police arrested Allu Arjun, his security guard, and theater authorities. A Nampally court initially remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody, but the High Court granted him interim bail shortly after.
Telangana Chief Minister Rebanta Reddy supported the police action, pointing out that neither the police nor theater authorities were informed about Allu Arjun’s appearance. The Chief Minister stated that the actor’s interaction with fans, including waving and greeting from his car’s sunroof, escalated the situation.
However, a letter purportedly sent by the theater to the police on December 2 surfaced, indicating prior notice about Allu Arjun’s visit. The letter allegedly requested security, but the police’s response remains unclear.
Meanwhile, criticism grows over the lack of focus on the grieving family of the deceased woman and her injured son.
