An associate professor at Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla, Siba Prasad Panigrahi, faced termination from his position within the Electrical Engineering department due to allegations of misconduct. The termination stemmed from accusations of Panigrahi directing abusive language towards university authorities via social media channels.
Following deliberations by the University Management Board, Panigrahi was dismissed from his role. This action came subsequent to a prior two-year suspension for similar transgressions. Additionally, reports suggest Panigrahi had faced termination from a previous educational institution before joining VSSUT.
VSSUT, formerly known as University College of Engineering (UCE), Burla, was established in 1956 and transformed into its current status in July 2009. Admissions to its various B.Tech. and B.Arch. programs are based on merit lists published by JEE Main, while admissions for M.Tech., M.Sc., and M.Phil. programs are managed internally by the university.
However, admission procedures for students entering B.Tech (LE) and MCA programs are conducted through the Orissa Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) administered by the Government of Odisha.
