The Indian Visa Application Center (IVAC) in Bangladesh has been closed indefinitely due to ongoing violence in the country. The closure follows recent unrest related to the reservation system and the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The IVAC website has announced that the center will reopen when conditions allow, and applicants will be notified via SMS. Passports will be collected on the next working day once the center resumes operations.
In response to the escalating violence, 190 non-essential employees of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka, along with their families, have been relocated to India. Despite this, no diplomats have returned to India; they remain in Dhaka to monitor the situation.
