Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi and prominent leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today in connection with the ongoing investigation into the liquor policy case. This development follows earlier statements from AAP members Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj, who had voiced concerns about the possibility of Kejriwal’s arrest by the ED.
The arrest comes after Kejriwal had repeatedly ignored summonses issued by the central investigative agency, having skipped them on nine separate occasions. His evasion of these summonses had drawn significant attention and speculation, leading to heightened anticipation of legal action against him.
