
New Delhi: The central government has made a big change in the rules of mobile connectivity. The Union Ministry of Telecom has changed the rules for mobile connection and it will come into effect from next month. This new rule is related to KYC and it will be applicable to customers from next year. As a result, customers can easily buy new cards.
According to the information, this step has been taken by the Department of Telecommunications in order to give importance to digitization in the country. According to the new law, paper-based KYC will be completely banned for getting new SIM cards. So now customers only have to do digital or e-KYC to buy a new SIM card.
In the new year, from January 1st, there will be a big change in the rules of buying SIM cards, as per the notification issued by the ministry of telecommunications. Now every customer must have to do e-KYC to get a SIM card and paper based KYC will be stopped completely. Along with this, all other rules for taking new mobile connections will remain unchanged. No changes have been made to it. Earlier there was paper based KYC along with e-KYC to get a SIM card. But now the second option (Paper based KYC) will not be available. Only e-KYC will be the one and only option.
