BJP Accuses Congress of Ties with George Soros, Sparks Political Firestorm

The BJP has accused Congress of having ties with George Soros, a billionaire allegedly spreading misleading propaganda against India. The party claims Sonia Gandhi actively serves as the co-chairman of the FDL-AP Foundation, an organization funded by Soros, which supposedly promotes anti-India sentiments. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju slammed Congress, emphasizing the seriousness of the connection between Sonia Gandhi and Soros.

Rijiju pointed out the contradiction, as Sonia Gandhi is involved with Soros’s NGO, while her son Rahul Gandhi has criticized Soros for advancing an anti-India agenda. The BJP further alleges that the FDL-AP Foundation supports separatist movements in Kashmir and receives funding from Soros’s foundation. The party has used social media platforms to highlight Sonia Gandhi’s role in the organization and question Congress’s alignment with Soros’s interests.

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey announced that he would question Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha about the alleged connection, linking the OCCRP media portal and Soros’s foundation to efforts to destabilize India’s economy and discredit the Modi government. The BJP also pointed out that the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, chaired by Sonia Gandhi, benefits financially from Soros’s foundation. The party argues that FDL-AP’s support for a separate Kashmir represents foreign interference in India’s internal affairs.
