A BJP leader was fatally attacked in his office. But the strong leader of the BJP fell short from the sword wound. One such incident took place in Rayagada last night. Rayagada BJP assembly candidate and state working member Basant Ulaka was the victim of the attack. Police have detained two people in this incident.
Basant Ulaka was the Rayagada BJP assembly candidate in the last election and now he is a state working member. He was sitting in his office at Vidyanagar in Rayagada last night. At around 10 o’clock in the night, two young men suddenly entered his office with swords. As they were about to attack him, Basant escaped and closed the door of a house.
But the rogue attacked with his sword and broke the door. In the meantime, hearing Basant’s screams, the two miscreants ran away as others rushed to the scene.
Basant along with his supporters reached Rayagada police station and filed a complaint. The police have started an investigation into the incident and have detained two people and seized a sword.
Basant alleged that the opponent may have done so due to political enmity.
