Brijendra Singh, a BJP MP from Haryana, has chosen to align himself with the Congress resigning from BJP

In a significant blow to the BJP’s presence in Haryana, the Member of Parliament representing Hisar tendered his resignation from the party’s primary membership on Sunday, citing ‘compelling political reasons.’

Shortly after revealing his decision on X, the ex-bureaucrat made his way to the residence of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi and officially joined the opposition party.

“I have resigned from the primary membership of BJP,due to compelling political reasons. I extend gratitude to the party, National President Sh. JP Nadda, Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, & Sh Amit Shah for giving me the opportunity to serve as the Member of Parliament for Hisar,” he posted on X.

During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he emerged victorious in Hisar, triumphing over JJP’s Dushyant Chautala and Bhavya Bishnoi, who was then affiliated with the Congress.

This former bureaucrat is the great-grandson of the esteemed peasant leader Chotu Ram. His father, Birender, held a position as a Union minister, while his mother, Premlata Singh, served as a representative for the Uchana assembly seat.
