CM Naveen Patnaik to inaugurate Laxmi Bus services in five Districts today

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is set to inaugurate the Laxmi Bus service in five districts of the state today. Starting today, the Laxmi bus will be operational in Bolangir, Bargarh, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, and Keonjhar districts of Odisha. Similarly, Laxmi Bus services will commence in Khordha, Puri, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Jajpur, and Nayagarh districts of Odisha from February 16 onwards.

Subsequently, the services will begin in Sambalpur, Sonepur, Cuttack, Jharsuguda, and Kandhamal from February 19 onwards. Finally, the Laxmi buses will be operational in Balasore, Nuapada, Boudh, Ganjam, and Jagatsinghpur districts of the state from February 21 onwards. It is noteworthy that Laxmi Bus Services will be available in all districts of Odisha by the end of this month.

Between February 12 and February 21, CM Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate Laxmi Bus Services in several districts of Odisha. Previously, on January 31, CM Naveen Patnaik launched the service in Dhenkanal, Angul, and Deogarh districts of Odisha. Prior to that, on December 14, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik virtually inaugurated the Laxmi Bus service through video conferencing in the Koraput district of Odisha.

Before this recent expansion, the state government had already initiated the Laxmi bus in five districts including Malkangiri, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Rayagada, and Nabarangpur. Along with the Koraput district, the state government had initially planned to introduce the Laxmi bus in only these six districts.

It is significant to note that the government has allocated Rs 3,178 crore over three years for the Laxmi Bus Yojana.
