The State Congress Committee on Friday formed a 36-member outreach group for the “Uttar Pradesh Jodo Yatra” beginning December 20. Led by senior party member Yogesh Dixit, the committee includes Manoj Yadav and Pankhuri Pathak. The Parivartan Yatra, starting from Saharanpur district on December 20, will traverse Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Sitapur. Expected to last 20 days, the yatra will conclude on January 10.
A Congress leader stated, “The outreach committee aims to maximize public participation in the yatra.” The yatra’s goal is to connect with those “not being heard by the current government”.
Adding, “Farmers in UP and the youth are struggling while the Muslim community is facing repeated attacks from different quarters. Therefore, our focus will be on these sections during the yatra.” He said.
