
Assembly elections in 5 states are to be held in the next month. Before this, the rival parties are announcing their candidates. Congress has announced the first list of candidates for assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Telangana.
Congress has announced the list of candidates for 144 assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh. State PCC president and former chief minister Kamal Nath will contest from the Chindwara seat. Similarly, Congress has announced candidates for 30 assembly seats in Chhattisgarh and 55 assembly seats in Telangana. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will contest from Patan constituency while Deputy Chief Minister T S Singh Deo will contest from Ambikapur, the party announced. Telangana PCC President Revantha Reddy will contest from the Kodenga seat.
If we say about BJP, On October 9, BJP announced phased list of candidates for 3 states. While the party has already announced the list of candidates in one phase for Chhattisgarh and two phases for Madhya Pradesh, it announced the list of candidates for the first time in Rajasthan. In the first phase, the party released the list of 41 candidates for Rajasthan. Similarly, the list of 64 candidates for Chhattisgarh and 57 candidates for Madhya Pradesh was released by the party. In Chhattisgarh, this was BJP’s second list of candidates. While the candidates for Madhya Pradesh were announced in two phases, the party released the 3rd phase list with the names of 57 candidates last Monday.
The Election Commission of India has recently released the notification for the assembly elections of 5 states. The polling process will start from November 7. Elections in Chhattisgarh will be held in 2 phases and in other 4 states in one phase. Two phases of Chhattisgarh polling will be on November 7 and November 17. Voting will be held in Mizoram on 7th, Madhya Pradesh on 17th along with the second phase polling in Chhatisgarh, Rajasthan on 23rd instead of 25th and Telangana on 30th. Counting of votes in all 5 states on will be on December 3. A day after the announcement of the election date, it was announced that the election would be held on November 25 instead of November 23 in Rajasthan.
