
Congress unveiled its sixth list of candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, spotlighting nominees from Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. In this latest announcement, the party has designated five individuals to contest from constituencies in these two states. In Rajasthan, the selected candidates include Ramchandra Choudhary for Ajmer, Sudarshan Rawat for Rajsamand, Dr. Damodar Gurjar for Bhilwara, and Prahlad Gunjal for Kota. Meanwhile, C Robert Bruce has been named as the candidate for Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu.
This release follows closely on the heels of the party’s fifth list, which was made public just a day earlier. In the previous announcement, Congress introduced three candidates for the upcoming elections. Among them, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas emerged as the nominee for Jaipur, replacing Sunil Sharma. Additionally, the list featured Pratibha Suresh Dhanorkar for the Chandrapur seat in Maharashtra, and Murari Lal Meena for Dausa in Rajasthan.
During the initial phase of candidate announcements, Congress had revealed its first list, comprising 39 names. Notable figures included Bhupesh Baghel from Chhattisgarh, Rahul Gandhi, KC Venugopal, and Shashi Tharoor from Kerala, as well as DK Suresh from Karnataka. Within this initial list, 15 candidates hailed from the general category, while the remaining 24 represented Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and Minorities.
