The opposition is intensifying pressure on the government over the alleged beating of ASO Baikunth Nath Pradhan by Governor’s son Lalit Kumar and his associates at Puri Raj Bhavan. Congress leaders Sarath Patnaik and Vijay Patnaik slammed the government for transferring the ASO instead of arresting the accused. They demanded equal application of the law and questioned the Chief Minister’s silence on the issue.
BJP spokesperson Samantha singhar alleged that the government is trying to destroy the integrity and self-respect of Odias. He cited the replacement of the ASO as evidence. The opposition is seeking clarification from the government on the incident, which has tarnished Odisha’s image nationwide. They demanded to know why the accused has not been arrested and whether there are different laws for ordinary people and political figures . No convictions have been reported in this matter .
