Mysuru-based sculptor Arun Yogiraj, known for crafting the Ram Lalla idol recently placed in the newly constructed Ram Temple in Ayodhya, has shared images of the specialized tools he utilized in sculpting the deity’s divine eyes. Demonstrating a silver hammer alongside a golden chisel, Yogiraj expressed, “Thought of sharing this silver hammer with the golden chisel using which I carved the divine eyes (Netronmilana) of Ram Lalla.”
In the shared image, Yogiraj presents a silver hammer placed on an individual’s palm, accompanied by a slender gold chisel. Notably, the 51-inch idol of Ram Lalla, now positioned in the ‘sanctum sanctorum’ of the recently inaugurated Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, has been meticulously carved from an azure-coloured Krishna Shila (Black Schist), with the eyes crafted from shyam shila (blue-black stone).

The installation of the idol of Lord Ram, depicted with bow and arrow, occurred at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 18, followed by the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony on January 22.
