Cuttack SCB Medical Dispute Resolved, Normalcy Restored to Patient Care

The standoff between Nursing Officers and House Surgeons at Cuttack SCB Medical College has come to an end, following a high-level meeting convened by the Health Secretary today. The meeting, attended by Dr. Jayant Panda and members of the investigation committee, successfully resolved the dispute, paving the way for the resumption of normal patient care services.

The dispute, which began on Sunday over a disagreement about blood transfusion for a patient, had escalated into a full-blown agitation, with both sides trading accusations. The situation had deteriorated to the point where all services, except emergency care, were shut down yesterday.

Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling intervened promptly, expressing concern over the incident and directing the Health Secretary to resolve the matter amicably. The outcome of today’s meeting has averted a potential crisis, ensuring that patient care services at the medical college will now function normally.

With the dispute behind them, the focus has shifted back to providing quality care to patients, with all stakeholders committed to working together in harmony. This resolution has brought relief to patients and their families, who can now access the medical services they need.
