
A cyclone named ‘Tej’ has arisen in Arabian Sea. IMD said that it is likely to turn into a severe cyclonic storm by Sunday evening. This cyclone has formed in a low pressure area over the south-east and south-west Arabian Sea, which may take a severe form in the coming times.
Indian Meteorological Department has shared some important information on cyclone ‘Tej’. It is expected to turn into a severe cyclonic storm on Sunday and move towards the southern coasts of Oman and nearby Yemen. Since India has authority over this area, India has named this cyclone ‘Tej’. The Meteorological Department said that the latest sea conditions in the south-west Arabian Sea are very bad, which is likely to become extremely severe from October 21 to 23. In the Western Arabian Sea, there is a possibility of strong waves in the sea from 22 to 25 October.
According to IMD forecast, cyclone will cause rough sea conditions in south-west, west-central and adjoining south-east Bay of Bengal on October 21. There is a possibility of strong waves. It is expected to become severe by 23rd October. After this, between October 24 and 26, the sea conditions along the Odisha, West Bengal and Bangladesh coasts of the cyclone may become rough to very rough.
As a precautionary measure, IMD has advised fishermen to avoid going into the sea and coastal areas till October 26. Those who are already in the sea have been advised to return to the shore. At present, IMD has not given any warning regarding Gujarat and the cyclone is expected to remain ineffective in the state. The cyclone is expected to move in the west-northwest direction. As a result, the weather in Gujarat is expected to remain dry for the next seven days.
There is a possibility of adverse effect on the weather due to cyclone in some areas. According to IMD, light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds may occur in Kerala on October 23 and 24. Similarly, rain is expected in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on October 24.
