
On the 20th of February, the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024 honoured outstanding contributions to cinema with a lavish ceremony held at Taj Lands End in Mumbai. This annual event, known as India’s most prestigious award ceremony, dazzled attendees with captivating musical and dance performances, stunning red-carpet appearances, and, above all, a celebration of the immense talent and dedication displayed by the Film and Television industry year after year.
The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards marked the pinnacle of creative efforts with its theme of Cinematic Evolution. The evening featured musical performances by renowned artists such as Javed Ali, Sukhwinder, and Nikhita Gandhi, paying homage to the rich history and legacy of entertainment in India. T he event was graced by the presence of Bollywood luminaries, including Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shahid Kapoor, and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who added to the glamour of the red carpet affair. Seasoned actors Jaaved Jaffrey and Aparshakti Khurana charmed the audience as hosts, captivating them with their natural wit and humor.
Among the highlights of the ceremony was the felicitation of Moushumi Chatterjee for her Outstanding Contribution to the Film Industry. With a remarkable career spanning both Hindi and Bengali cinema, Chatterjee has left an indelible mark with iconic films such as ‘Parineeta’, ‘Anuraag’, ‘Benaam’, and ‘Humshakal’. Her stellar achievements were acknowledged at DPIFF 2024, celebrating her remarkable and diverse contributions to cinema.
