Dr. Bishnu Prasad Chinara’s Body Identified; Returned to Odisha

Dr. Bishnu Prasad Chinara, who died in the Wayanad landslide, has been identified. His body is expected to return to Odisha today. His wife, Priyadarshini, who survived the landslide and is receiving treatment, may be discharged today.

Priyadarshini and Mahapatra, who were also caught in the landslide, are being treated in Kerala. However, Dr. Swadhin Panda remains missing, and the search for him will pause for two days. Mahapatra is currently undergoing treatment in Wayanad.

Dr. Bishnu Prasad, his wife Priyadarshini Paul, Dr. Swadhin Panda, and Mahapatra had traveled from Bengaluru to Kerala for a vacation. They were staying at Vinadar Linera Villa when a landslide struck on Monday night, causing severe flooding and mudslides. Priyadarshini and Mahapatra were rescued, but Dr. Bishnu Prasad and Dr. Swadhin Panda were initially unaccounted for. Dr. Bishnu Prasad’s body was recovered, as confirmed by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari .
