ED Conducts Raids Across Sambalpur and Delhi in Kshirod Mallik Probe

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided the house of late Kshirod Mallik, the brother of former minister and opposition chief secretary Pramila Mallik. The raid took place on the second day of the ongoing ceremony at Pramila’s brother’s house. Reports indicate that the ED targeted a residence in Banipally, Sambalpur. Kshirod Mallik, who founded the Biswa NGO, had taken loans from several state-owned and private banks but failed to repay them.

On the previous day, the ED raided three locations, including the headquarters of Biswa NGO in Sambalpur, and another location in Delhi. The search continued into the late night and resumed the following morning. It remains unclear what crucial documents the ED seized during the raid.

The ED is investigating Kshirod Mallik’s NGO, Bharat Integrated Social Welfare Agency, for allegedly defrauding Rs 231 crore. Authorities found that the NGO misused this money in the current election process. Based on this information, the ED launched its probe.

Although the international NGO has been closed for several years, Pramila Mallik, the BJJ leader, has not yet responded to the ED’s actions.
