Election commission scheduled dates for election in five states

The Election Commission of India (ECI)  has announced the dates for Assembly election in five states i.e. Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram to be held next month. The announcement entails details of the electoral process dates including filing of nominations, polling days and result declaration for all these five states.

Madhya Pradesh will elect legislators for 230 constituencies while Rajasthan for 200 constituencies, Telangana for 119 constituencies, Chhattisgarh for 90 constituencies and Mizoram for 40 constituencies.

Mizoram will go to polls on November 7 while Chhattisgarh will vote in two phases i.e. on November 7 and 17. Elections will be held in Madhya Pradesh on November 17, Rajasthan on November 23 and Telangana on November 30. The results of all the five states will be declared on December 3.

Before this announcement, The Election Commission held a meeting on Friday of observers to develop strategy for smooth conduct of the polls.
