
Former Police DG and famous writer Sharat Chandra Mishra passed away today at 7:24 am in Bhubaneswar. He was 88 at the time of his death. His brother, former police DG Bipin Bihari Mishra informed this to the media. He was suffering from dengue for the past few days and was under the treatment at a private hospital in the Bhubanrswar.
Sharat Chandra Mishra was an IPS officer of 1959 batch. Mr. Mishra was not only a responsible police officer but also also a renowned writer. After retirement, he dedicated the rest of his life to reading, writing, and education. He was awarded with ‘Sahitya Academy Award’. Not to mention, Sharat Chandra Mishra was also a columnist for the daily ‘Sambad’. Instead of that he had served in the Research and Analysis Wing (R & AW) for a long time. So, a shadow of mourning has been played in various quarters after his death.
