A mosquito incense stick caused a tragic fire in Ishan village, Bengalpur Panchayat, under Balasore district police station. The incense inside a cage ignited the house in the middle of the night. The fire destroyed the home, reducing all possessions to ashes.
Late at night, flames engulfed Dhiren Mallik’s house, which stood on a hillside. Unable to control the fire alone, Dhiren alerted the villagers. They quickly responded, launching a rescue operation to contain the blaze.
Upon receiving the distress call, Ada fire brigade personnel rushed to the scene and extinguished the fire. However, the damage was extensive. The fire destroyed property worth lakhs of rupees, including 10 quintals of grain stored in the house.
Dhiren Mallik’s family members were left devastated, mourning the loss of their home and belongings.
