According to the deceased Bhagwat’s wife, both the husband and the wife used to quarrel most of the time. Swami Bhagwat had run away from home after a fight for the past two weeks and had been staying at his friend Durga Naik’s house, who lived a short distance away. However, in the morning, they found Bhagat’s blood-soaked body lying inside the house.
According to injured Dasarath Karua, he and Bhagwat Beshra were cooking when Durga Naik went to fetch liquor yesterday evening. At around 8 o’clock Durga was intoxicated and returned with liquor, suddenly took a hammer and attacked him first. Later Durga also attacked Bhagavata. However, Dasarath was able to escape with his life. Accused murderer Durga Naik has returned.
