Renowned Bollywood singer Anuradha Paudwal made headlines on Saturday as she officially joined the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in Delhi. Expressing her deep-rooted connection with Sanatan Dharma, Paudwal conveyed her gratitude for becoming a part of a political entity that shares this bond. She remarked, “I am happy that I am joining the government which has a deep connection with Sanatan (Dharma). It is my good fortune that I am joining BJP today.”
When queried about her potential participation in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Paudwal responded, “I don’t know yet, whatever suggestion they give me.”
This development unfolded shortly after Ajay Pratap Singh, a Rajya Sabha member from Madhya Pradesh representing the BJP, announced his resignation from the party’s primary membership due to not being renominated. Meanwhile, in Telangana, former BJP member A P Jithender Reddy, accompanied by his son, opted to switch allegiance and join the Congress party earlier in the day.
Notably, Paudwal had previously showcased her musical talent at the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya through her rendition of a Ram Bhajan, further emphasizing her connection to cultural and religious events.
