Gopalganj Resident Arrested with Fake Visa at IGI Airport

Bihar, already grappling with rising fraud cases, now faces a new visa scam targeting its youth. Fraudulent agents, who promise better lives abroad, exploit hopeful individuals by charging them large sums for fake visas. A recent case at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in Delhi underscores the severity of this issue.

On a recent day, 26-year-old Dhananjay Yadav from Gopalganj, Bihar, arrived at IGI Airport with dreams of traveling to the UAE and then Kyrgyzstan. Instead of boarding his flight, Yadav found himself in police custody after officials discovered that his Kyrgyzstan visa was fraudulent.

According to IGI Airport DCP Usha Rangnani, the Bureau of Immigration referred Yadav to the police for further investigation. During questioning, Yadav disclosed that a contact named Munna Singh had introduced him to an agent named Rahmatullah Ansari. Ansari had promised to facilitate Yadav’s travel to Kyrgyzstan via the UAE for ₹2 lakh. Influenced by the success stories of friends who had found work in European countries, Yadav had been drawn to this opportunity.

This case highlights the growing problem of fraudulent agents targeting vulnerable individuals in Bihar. These agents exploit people’s dreams of a better life abroad, leaving them at risk. The police are actively investigating the scam to uncover its full extent and hold those responsible accountable.
