The Mahakumbh Mela began in Tirtharaja Prag with the first holy bath at Triveni Sangam. Crores of devotees are gathering at Prayagraj to take a dip and cleanse their sins.
Saints lead the rituals by immersing themselves in the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, followed by millions of devotees. The banks of the Sangam are packed with saints and devotees, as their chants and hymns create a vibrant atmosphere.
This year, the Mela expects 45 crore visitors across six bathing tithis. The Uttar Pradesh government has implemented extensive measures and tightened security arrangements to manage the massive influx.
Yesterday, devotees witnessed the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti at Triveni Sangam, which preceded the grand Mahakumbha Maha Aarti. A woman performed this special aarti in Prayagraj. Similarly, the evening aarti at Sarayu Ghat in Ayodhya drew large crowds.
The priest’s recitation of Vedas and mantras filled the air with spirituality, attracting lakhs of devotees to the sunset aarti. The captivating laser show at Prayagraj added a modern touch to the Mahakumbh festivities.
Organizers have ensured exciting arrangements for this year’s Mahakumbh Mela. Helicopters will shower devotees with 20 quintals of rose petals across the 4,000-hectare venue during each sacred bath.
Additionally, tourists can now enjoy helicopter rides at the fair at a reduced fare of ₹1,296, down from the earlier ₹3,000. The Mahakumbh Mela promises a truly memorable and spiritual experience for all visitors.
