According to authorities, gunshots were reported outside the Mumbai home of Bollywood actor Salman Khan early this morning. At approximately 5 am, an unidentified individual on a motorcycle discharged multiple rounds into the air near Mr. Khan’s residence in Bandra before swiftly departing from the scene. Mumbai Police has initiated an investigation into the incident and is actively working to locate and apprehend the individual responsible for firing the shots.
Last year, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) disclosed that Mr. Khan was listed as the top target among 10 individuals planned for elimination by incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. This plan stemmed from the actor’s notorious 1998 black buck hunting incident, which Bishnoi deemed offensive to the Bishnoi community. Bishnoi further disclosed that his associate, Sampat Nehra, had conducted surveillance on Mr. Khan’s Bandra residence in preparation for a potential attack. However, Nehra was apprehended by the Special Task Force of Haryana Police. Subsequently, Mumbai Police upgraded Mr. Khan’s security status to Y+ following another threat received on April 11 last year. An Indian student in the United Kingdom was subject to a lookout circular (LOC) for allegedly sending a threatening email to Mr. Khan.
