Hockey India Secretary in Hot Water Over Temple Photo

Hockey India Secretary, Volanath Singh, has sparked controversy after posting a photo of himself taken inside the premises of the revered Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar. The post, which was shared on Singh’s social media account, was promptly deleted after it drew criticism from various quarters.

The incident has raised questions about the rules and regulations regarding mobile phone usage and photography within the temple complex. According to temple authorities, photography is strictly prohibited inside the temple premises, with mobile phones and cameras not allowed beyond a certain point.

Devotees and temple staff expressed dismay over the incident, citing disrespect towards the sacred shrine. “The temple is a place of worship, not a photo studio,” said a temple priest. The circumstances surrounding the photo op remain unclear, with some questioning how Singh and Sahani were allowed to take the photo in the first place. An investigation into the matter is pending. This incident has sparked a debate about the need for stricter enforcement of temple rules and regulations to maintain the sanctity of such revered sites.
