A few days ago, there was a news in which all the Indians were shocked. The news was about the simultaneous data leak of 81 crore people of India through IMCR. Now ICMR admitted that the data has been leaked in some manner and has given clarification on this.
As we know that during the Corona period, the Indian government opened many online portals, through which informations of a corona patient were given to people. The patient’s Aadhaar information was being collected first on all these portals, so that by identifying the Corona patient, this disease could be prevented from spreading further.
ICMR has given it’s clarification by saying that data has been leaked, not stolen. There is a lot of difference between leaking and theft. What happened is that during the time of Covid, servers were prepared to keep the databases of all the portals that were running at different places. The data of some of the same servers has been leaked by the employees working there.
There is solid information about the leak. So, further investigation is also going on and it is expected that the accused will be caught very soon. Let us tell you that ICMR website has been hacked many times. Even before this, information about data leakage had come to light. But then the ICMR officials had rejected it outright, but this time the officials themselves are admitting that yes, the data has definitely been leaked.
On the other hand, government has said that if you feel that your Aadhaar details have been hacked then lock your Aadhaar immediately. So that any further problems can be avoided.
