India will become the third largest economic country : PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that India would rank among the world’s top three economies During his third term. He made this announcement while inaugurating the expansive Surat Diamond Bourse by emphasizing its significance as a symbol of the strength and determination of the new India.

Modi highlighted the Surat diamond industry’s employment of 8 lakh people, with an additional 1.5 lakh jobs expected due to the new bourse. The Surat Diamond Bourse, the world’s largest office complex, spans over 67 lakh square feet and is located near Surat city. Modi praised it as a testament to Indian design, designers, materials, and concepts, representing the country’s newfound strength.

He assured that in his third term, India would ascend to become one of the world’s top three economies, citing the nation’s rise from the tenth to the fifth largest economic power in the past decade. The government has set ambitious targets for the next 25 years, aiming for a USD 5-10 trillion economy and record-breaking exports.

Modi encouraged Surat and its diamond industry to aspire to increase their contribution to the country’s exports, presenting both a challenge and an opportunity for the diamonds, gems, and jewelry sector.
