India will become the third largest economy in our next term: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed optimism that India would become the world’s third-largest economy during the BJP’s third consecutive term. Speaking at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in the national capital, he highlighted the government’s efforts in lifting around 25 crore people out of poverty in the past decade. Modi emphasized India’s trajectory towards development by 2047, with the mobility sector playing a pivotal role.

Asserting that the timing is opportune, Modi acknowledged India’s rapid progress, referring to the nation’s advancements, particularly in space exploration. He declared the current era as the beginning of a golden age for the mobility sector, attributing the country’s expanding economy to this growth.

The Prime Minister noted the emergence of a ‘new middle class’ with expanded aspirations and income thresholds. Comparing pre-2014 and post-2014 statistics, he cited significant increases in car sales, especially electric cars, and a substantial rise in the sale of two-wheelers.

Modi emphasized the transformative changes in the mobility sector and underlined the government’s commitment to future-oriented policies, evident in the interim budget. He hinted at a comprehensive budget presentation post the formation of a new government.

The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, held at Bharat Mandapam, showcased India’s capabilities in the mobility and automotive sectors. The event featured exhibitions, conferences, buyer-seller meets, state sessions, a road safety pavilion, and public-centric attractions like go-karting.
