This is a piece of promising news for the daily train commuters as the Indian Railway gears up to introduce 10 new Vande Bharat Express Trains on March 12, 2024. The North Eastern Railways (NER) and Northern Railways (NR) have disclosed the specifics of this initiative.
Additionally, Indian Railways has announced the extension of services for the Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express (22549) up to Prayagraj, effective from Tuesday.
The list of 10 new Vande Bharat Express trains scheduled for launch in March 2024 includes:
- Ranchi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express (Train Number: 20887/20888)
- New Jalpaiguri-Patna Vande Bharat Express (Train Number: To Be Confirmed)
- New Delhi-Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express (Train Number: To Be Confirmed)
- Patna-Lucknow Charbagh Vande Bharat Express (Train Number: To Be Confirmed)
- Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat Express (Train Number: 20707/20708)
- Puri-Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat Express (Train Number: To Be Confirmed)
- Lucknow Charbagh-Dehradun Terminal Vande Bharat Express (Train Number: To Be Confirmed)
- Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express (Train Number: To Be Confirmed)
- Kalaburagi (Gulbarga)-KSR Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express (Train Number: 22231/22232)
- Mysuru-MGR Chennai Central Vande Bharat Express (Train Number: 20663/20664)
Several Vande Bharat train services are also set to undergo extension:
- Ahmedabad-Jamnagar Vande Bharat Express to be extended till Dwarka.
- Ajmer-Delhi Sarai Rohilla Vande Bharat to be extended till Chandigarh.
- Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat to be extended till Prayagraj.
- Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod Vande Bharat to be extended till Mangaluru.
Moreover, the Patna-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express will include stoppages at the newly redeveloped Gomti Nagar railway station. The inauguration of the new Vande Bharat Express, with train number 22345, will take place virtually from Ahmedabad by PM Modi.
The train is scheduled to depart from Patna at 6:05 AM and arrive at Gomti Nagar railway station by 2:30 PM. On its return journey, it will leave Gomti Nagar railway station at 3:20 PM and reach Patna by 11:45 PM.
