
Islamabad : India’s most wanted terrorist Shahid Latif has been shot dead. He was hiding in Pakistan. Unknown assailants shot him, killed him on the spot. Shahid Latif was the mastermind of the Pathankot attack.
Shahid Latif was a terrorist of Pakistani terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed. He was hiding in Sialkot, Pakistan. On Wednesday, unknown assailants shot him. He was an important member of Jaish-e-Mohammed. Latif was arrested in India on 12 November 1994. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison. After serving his jail sentence, Latif was sent to Pakistan via Wagah in 2010.
Latif was declared a terrorist by the Government of India. He was wanted in a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). NIA (National Investigation Agency) was looking for him. Even after serving the jail sentence, he did not leave the path of terrorism. He was the main conspirator of the Pathankot attack on 2 January 2016. He carried out the attack sitting in Sialkot. For this he had sent four terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed to Pathankot. 41-year-old Shahid Latif was also an accused in the 1999 Indian Airlines plane hijacking case.
