The Pentagon, the defense headquarters of the United States, alleges that the drone attack originated from Iran. Unidentified drones attacked a ship that was heading to Mangalore, Karnataka, from Saudi Arabia yesterday, carrying unrefined oil.
The drone attack in the airspace has caused partial damage to the vessel. After the attack, the ship has experienced technical faults, affecting its navigation. At the time of the incident, there were 21 Indian crew members on board. Fortunately, all are reported to be safe. The Indian Navy has dispatched a team to provide security to the affected ship at the scene.
According to information, the ship had suffered partial damage during the attack. However, later efforts have been made to stabilize it. The ship affected by the drone attack is reportedly the MV Chemi Pluto. The incident is unfolding in the Arabian Sea.
