Iran Orders Attack on Israel After Haniyeh’s Death

Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh was killed on Wednesday in Tehran, Iran’s capital. Israel has not publicly claimed responsibility, but both Iran and Hamas accuse Israel of being behind his death.

In response, Iran has warned Israel sharply. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has ordered an attack on Israel, following an emergency meeting of the Supreme National Security Council. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have gone on high alert and prepared for possible retaliation.

Sources from Israel’s Defense Ministry express concern that Iran may strike Israel directly or through its proxies, such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthi rebel group. To counter any potential threats, the IDF has strengthened military bases in Tel Aviv and Haifa.
