Kerala Man Arrested for Wife’s Murder in Brahmapur After a Year on the Run

A year after brutally killing his wife in Brahmapur, the accused, Sami Daman, has finally been caught. Police arrested him in Kerala and brought him back to Brahmapur.

Sami Daman was initially jailed in Kerala for dealing marijuana. Upon learning of his arrest, Berhampur police brought him to Brahmapur and presented him in court. The police will interrogate him during a two-day remand starting Tuesday to uncover details of the crime.

Originally from Kerala, Sami Daman has a history of marijuana-related arrests. He married K. Krishna Veni from ARV Nagar, Visakhapatnam, last year. In November, he returned to Brahmapur with his wife and stayed at a lodge in Goilundi. There, he killed her and fled the scene.

The crime came to light when the lodge staff reported a foul smell from the room. Police arrived, recovered the body, and sent it for an autopsy. They registered a case and began their investigation. After committing the murder, Sami Daman had returned to Kerala, evading capture until now.
