Law Department Proposes New Shrimandi Committee Guidelines

The term of the current managing committee of Shrimandi ends in August. The new administration, Navakalebar, will prioritize transparency and impartiality. The focus will be on selecting committee members who are deeply committed to serving the Lord and exhibit exemplary behavior. If necessary, the chief administrator of the fund will utilize a lottery system for selections.

Previously, there were allegations of internal policies influencing the formation of the Srimandi’s management committee. In response, the law department has proposed an eight-member committee and issued strict instructions under Section 6(1) J of the Temple Act, 1955. The High Court’s directives have prompted the adoption of a legal framework for the selection process.

Proposal Highlights:

Niyogas involved in most Sevapujas will recommend two names to the chief administrator.
The chief administrator will prepare a list of ten members with experience in Seva Puja, good coordination with Sevayat, and positive behavior towards devotees.
If there is a conflict in the selection process, a lottery system may be introduced.
Representatives closely related to Sevapuja will be prioritized.
