The Lok Sabha witnessed a massive uproar during the discussion on the general budget, with the ruling party objecting to several statements made by Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi.
Gandhi, while criticizing the budget, alleged that the government had neglected the OBC community, stating that only two out of 20 officials involved in preparing the Union Budget belonged to minority or OBC communities. Gandhi also sought to display a photo of the halwa ceremony, which was denied by Speaker Om Birla.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman took exception to Gandhi’s remarks, while Kiren Rijiju accused him of not knowing the rules of the House. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also stood up to counter Gandhi’s statement on Agniveer.
