Mamata Banerjee’s Harmony Rally Amid Ayodhya Ceremony

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee declared her intention to lead a ‘rally for harmony’ in Kolkata on January 22, coinciding with the Ram temple consecration in Ayodhya. As the leader of the TMC, Banerjee specified that the procession would commence from Hazra crossing after her visit to the Kalighat temple to pay respects to Goddess Kali.

During a press conference at the state secretariat, Banerjee outlined the rally’s inclusive nature, emphasizing its unrelated nature to other events. The TMC-organized march aims to traverse various places of worship, including mosques, churches, and gurdwaras, concluding at Park Circus Maidan.

Banerjee encouraged party members to orchestrate similar rallies across all districts of the state, emphasizing that the consecration, known as ‘Pran Pratistha,’ falls under the domain of religious leaders, not politicians. She underscored the political role in creating infrastructure rather than engaging in religious rituals.
