Man with Multiple Marriages and Fraud Is On Remand

Satyajit Mangobind Samlar, a man with multiple marriages and numerous alleged fraudulent activities, has been arrested following a police investigation into his criminal activities. Samlar, who is married to five women and is accused of having relationships with 49 others, has been accused of extorting large sums of money from his victims. He allegedly defrauded one woman of Rs 36 lakh and a Bolero car, and another woman of Rs 8 lakh and a Bullet motorcycle. In cases where victims sought repayment, Samlar reportedly threatened them with a gun.

The Capital Police applied for a 10-day remand to further investigate Samlar’s activities. However, he was granted a two-day remand and is set to be held for questioning starting today. Samlar, who was reportedly attempting to flee to Dubai before his arrest, was apprehended by police on August 3rd following complaints from the two victims. The commissionerate police conducted a search operation that led to his arrest.
