Migrant Indian Day Preparations Near Completion as Key Officials Arrive

The state government, in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, has reached the final stage of preparations for Migrant Indian Day. About 5,000 Indian immigrants, including the President and Prime Minister, will attend the event. A state-level preparatory meeting, chaired by the Chief Administrative Secretary, was held to finalize the plans.

The Prime Minister will depart from Visakhapatnam Airport at 7 pm on January 8 and arrive at Bhubaneswar Airport at 8.15 pm. By 8.30 pm, he will reach Raj Bhavan and spend the night there. On January 9, he will attend the 18th Migrant Indian Day Conference before returning to New Delhi at 11.55 am.

The 18th Migrant Indian Day will take place at Janata Maidan, Bhubaneswar, from January 8 to 10. The Minister of External Affairs, S. Jaishankar, will participate in the opening ceremony, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the conference on January 9. President Droupadi Murmu will attend the opening session on January 10. Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja chaired the state-level preparation meeting held on Saturday.

The Chief Administrative Secretary emphasized the importance of ensuring the smooth and efficient organization of the President and Prime Minister’s visit programs.

Arrangements include temporary accommodations at Raj Bhavan, security, carcade logistics, transport to and from the event venue, medical assistance, road cleanliness, backup power supply with generators, uninterrupted drinking water supply, stage preparations, internet access, barricading, media publicity, necessary pass systems, and firefighting measures. The Home Department’s control room will manage the information and coordination for the program.
