Bhubaneswar, Odisha: Food Supply Minister Krishna chandra Pan has assured that the potato shortage in Odisha will be resolved within the next two days. The minister’s statement comes after a meeting with West Bengal officials to address the issue. The West Bengal government has lifted its ban on supplying potatoes to Odisha, allowing trucks to cross the border. The move follows a protest by Odisha traders and consumers, who were affected by the shortage.

Hundreds of trucks stuck at the Laxmannath toll gate in Balasore district will be cleared, allowing potatoes to reach Odisha markets. The minister warned traders against selling potatoes above the fixed price of ₹32 per kg, threatening action against violators. Potato prices in Odisha have skyrocketed, with traders selling at ₹40-50 per kg, up from ₹15-20 per kg. The public has expressed dissatisfaction, prompting the minister’s intervention.
