The Indian government is closely monitoring the unfolding situation in Bangladesh following the recent political upheaval and the departure of Sheikh Hasina. In an all-party meeting held on Tuesday, Foreign Trade Minister S. Jayashankar addressed concerns regarding the volatile situation.

Jayashankar reported that approximately 100,000 Indians are currently in Bangladesh, but the situation has not escalated to the point where an airlift is necessary. He noted that no decision has been made about whether Sheikh Hasina will seek refuge in India or another country. Discussions with Hasina are ongoing, but no concrete plans have been announced.
In response to the deteriorating conditions in Bangladesh, India has heightened security measures along the India-Bangladesh border. The Border Security Force (BSF) has increased its presence to maintain tight security.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired an important all-party meeting to address the situation, with key figures including Foreign Trade Minister S. Jayashankar, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and opposition leader Rahul Gandhi in attendance.
