Former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu faces criticism for claiming that cancer can be cured with home remedies. Chhattisgarh Civil Society has served his wife, Navjot Kaur Sidhu, with an Rs 850 crore notice, demanding proof of their claims within seven days. Failing to provide evidence, they risk legal action and must issue an apology. Doctors strongly oppose their statements, denouncing them as unscientific.
In a recent press conference, Navjot Singh Sidhu and his wife shared their experience of treating her fourth-stage breast cancer with chemotherapy, surgery, and a special diet. According to them, the diet included raw pepper and garlic in warm lemon water on an empty stomach, followed by a mix of lemon leaves, basil, ginger, cinnamon, and coriander. They claimed to have avoided white food, sugar, milk, and refined oil, with dinner before 6:30 PM, and a 14-hour fasting period to kill cancer cells.
Chhattisgarh Civil Society has called these claims misleading, urging them to either prove their validity or withdraw and apologize for spreading such misinformation.
