New feature of Google Chrome: Know what is it and how it works?

Google Chrome is one of the most used browsers in the world. For quite some time now, Google has been engaged in improving its internet browser. The company keeps bringing new features. Now Google has introduced a new feature in its Chrome browser, which will help the users to know the memory used by each open tab. This feature has been specially brought to manage multiple tabs simultaneously easily.

Google Chrome has introduced a new feature, which will tell users the memory used on open tabs. It is very easy to use this feature. Whenever you open many tabs simultaneously on the desktop, then in the option of all tabs that comes up when one tab is open, move your mouse cursor on that tab whose memory you want to see. As soon as you move the cursor to the tab, you will see Memory Usage below along with the page name and domain.

It is based on Chrome’s memory and energy saver mode. Memory Saver works to free up memory from inactive tabs. They appear in the page tab strip and are reloaded when you navigate back. You can enable both by going to Chrome’s settings. For this you will have to go to Performance.

The new tab memory usage feature is slowly becoming available to Chrome users around the world. It has been rolled out in India also. It will be available to all users in the next few weeks.

Benefits of new features

By viewing the memory taken by a tab, you can close the tab which is open even when not in use and is taking up more memory. This will help in managing tabs as well as in dealing with the problem of system slowing down or crashing.

Apart from the new tab memory usage feature, Google is also working on other initiatives to improve Chrome’s resource management. It has features like Energy Saver, which will limit background activities to save battery power.
